hi, i’m a student nurse who stress bakes.

The current image has no alternative text. The file name is: 7e87aafe-693a-4459-90b6-0f2833700a59-e1769379786213.png

I’m a student nurse. I spend a lot of my time in scrubs, a lot of my time studying, and a surprising amount of time in the kitchen baking with time that could be spent doing more studying. And also my favorite animal is a sloth.

This site exists because I wanted a place to let people who are interested in my content into my brain a little bit and hopefully can help some people on a similar journey– whether it’s with baking, nursing, or both! While it doesn’t seem like nursing and baking content could find a home on the same page, baking has become one of the ways I slow my brain down enough to cope with the intensity of being in an accelerated nursing program.

Why sloth in scrubs?

Sloths are slow. They rest a lot. They don’t rush unless they absolutely have to.
That feels like the opposite of nursing school, which is probably why I like them so much.

Sloth in scrubs is my reminder that it’s okay to move at a humane pace, even in a profession that often asks for more than that. This blog isn’t about being the most productive or the most polished. It’s about being functional, thoughtful, and well-fed.

What you’ll find here

This blog lives somewhere between:

  • nursing school reality
  • stress baking
  • low-energy self-care
  • and figuring things out without burning out

More specifically, you’ll find:

  • honest nursing school experiences
  • study routines that don’t require perfection
  • baking as a coping mechanism (sometimes successful)
  • recipes and food that feel comforting, not complicated
  • reminders that rest is not a failure

Nothing here is aspirational. It’s just real.

Who this is for

This is for:

  • nursing students
  • healthcare students
  • tired people who like baking
  • anyone who needs a slower corner of the internet

If you’re looking for hustle culture, this probably isn’t the place. I certainly hustle, but this is my safe space, okay?

A small disclaimer

I’m not an expert. I’m still learning.
I share what works for me, what doesn’t, and what I’m still figuring out.

This is not medical advice, nutritional advice, or life advice — just one student nurse documenting what helps her get through the week.

Thanks for being here!

If you stick around, you’ll mostly see:

  • nursing school guides
  • baking posts with recipes
  • lazy meal prep
  • occasional reflections on stress, rest, and balance

Let this serve as your reminder that you are not behind from a student nurse, moving at a reasonable pace.
